Art Nouveau Ostrich Floor Lamp.
One of the reasons that I love the 1920’s era so much is because of its obsession with feathers.
But why this interest in feathers? Well, back in the Roaring Twenties here was an ongoing interest in world travel and exotic places. Charles Lindbergh had made his transatlantic flight in his Spirit of St. Louis from New York to Paris in 1927. So then what better symbol of flight would there be other than a simple, fluffy, dreamy feather?
