Luxury boutique hotel in Lisbon’s historic Chiado district.

This restored former palace in Chiado, atop one of Lisbon’s hills – Santa Catarina – boasts a 360 view of the Tagus river besides one of the most popular Miradouros (Viewpoint) in the city, the Lisbon Adamastor.

This sublime yet understated oasis is so dreamy, you may be tempted to never leave the hotel.

Originally the home of The Baron and Viscount of Moledos, Francisco de Paula Silva Tovar, deputy to the constitutional courts in the 1820s, after many decades the palace eventually ran into disrepair. In 2003, it was bought by the municipality, becoming a venue for contemporary ‘Pop Up’ art exhibitions.  Then in 2017, it opened its doors as a boutique hotel and today is home to travelers with a taste for luxury and discretion.

Nineteen individually designed rooms – including 14 suites – expertly combine traditional Portuguese architectural details with all of the modern amenities you could ask for.  Not to mention, there is a gourmet restaurant, Suba, on the top floor with a rooftop terrace, sun-kissed pool and bar, and a number of communal spaces that are both wheel-chair accessible and dog friendly.
