A Slice of Paris in Lisbon.

On an unassuming corner in the district of Sao Bento, in the center of Lisbon, is as close as you will get to a Boulangerie Parisienne.

It’s the Coronavirus Pandemic and so my exposure is only to the boulangerie portion of the “Baguettes et Cornets”, as ice cream isn’t really something that I can “de-covid” when I get home (we nuke the pastries for 1 min before eating them).

Christian Colmeau and Chloé, father and daughter team, are the heart and soul of this neighbourhood institution, despite only having been there for the last two years. Chloé knows by heart the name of the flours and the composition of the different baguettes, and the bread with muesli and red or lemon fruits, which fill the counter shelves at the entrance.  That, and she is super friendly.
