The classic Chanel 2.55 bag has sure come a long way. Named ‘2.55’ for the date of its creation (February 1955), the bag originated in the 20’s when Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel got tired of carrying her handbag with her hands and added a strap inspired by those found on soldiers’ bags. Who would have thought that its signature quilting would now be seen on everything from skirts to sweatshirts and to shoes. This season it is certainly enjoying a huge revival.
Having worked with luxury brands and retailers such as Chloé, Prada, Armani, Holt Renfrew, and the Hudson Bay Company, Marika Brose launched her eponymous collection, BROSE, in 2009, creating glam dresses for globe-trotting gals. Endorsed by the media and celebrities alike — such as Vogue, ELLE, People, Nylon, Marie Claire, Flare, The Bachelor, Tatler, America’s Got Talent, MTV, Lucky, Life & Style, America’s Top Model, Much Music, Hello! Magazine…
