K, we all saw the hipsters of last summer sporting some freaky stuff like thick wolf-man beards and mirrored sunglasses and even the occasional bun. But when A-listers such as Jared Leto and Joaquim Phoenix don both a wolf-beard and bun on the red carpet of the Golden Globes, you can’t help but think that they might be onto something big. As Lucky Magazine EIC Eva Chen tweeted, “the man bun was more directional than many of the ladies on the red carpet.” Agreed.
Our favorite is the relatively less-well known musician Alex Elbert (who performs with bands Ima Robot and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) who won an award for All Is Lost.. It probably took much maneuvering to get that gorgeous blob of hair posed on the top of his head with so much volume an texture, and yet it looks so effortlessly so. It’s almost as if he invented the man bun.
