This is not a sexy scenester Parisian ‘boite.’ This is not where you will run into French celebrity hipsters like Mélanie Laurent and Vanessa Bruno. Neither will you rub elbows with chic fashion icons like Emmanuelle Alt and Carinne Roitfeld. No. This bistro is a very local, a very real, and a very sober place to eat traditional heart-felt French cuisine.
Run by a family for generations, le Bistro d’Henri is nestled in one of the many bustling little streets in the 6th arrondissement, not far from St Sulpice. Decorated with rustic bistro-style furnishings, a black & white check parqué, Art Deco paintings, and brown leather banquettes that date back to who knows when, this small bistro offers home-cooked French fare served with all of the warmth that you would normally expect at Christmas dinner.
I never miss a chance to visit le Bistrot d’Henri every time I am in Paris. And every time, the place is packed, the food is exceptional, and I sleep like a little lamb as soon as my head hits the pillow.
