Armazém is literally our stop when we arrive in Porto, and we always try to make it our last.  The wine bar makes you feel right at home — it’s hard to peel ourselves off one of their benches — and the tapas menu is extensive and tasty.  And if you are lucky, you might be there one one of the weekends when they host a theatre group or an art gallery opening.  If not, you can always spend some time admiring their 1934 MG parked behind the bar (it’s not for sale, sorry).

Opened in 2016 by creative power couple, Raquel and Batata Cerqueira Gomes, Armazém (warehouse) was previously a storage facility for a variety of businesses including a chemical supplies company and Real Companhia Velha which distributed wine and Port. The 1,500 m2 space has been re-purposed with a lot of TLC, maintaining much of the rustic and raw feel of the former tenant(s), to create an industrial multi-purpose space hosting a variety of vintage furniture shops, antiques, an art gallery, and a cozy wine bar with a mirrored fire place.  For summertime, you can grab a drink and head to one of the deck chairs on the patio in the summer and chill among potted plants and hammocks.
