Bean pastries in the heart of Alfama.
In 2009, renowned Chef António Amorim reinvented the bean pastry, a traditional Torres Vedras sweet that dates back to the nineteenth century, and entered it into a pastry contest which he won in 2015. Two years later, Amorim then opened Fábrica do Pastel de Feijão, a small pastry shop in the center of Alfama, offering his award-winning bean pastry along with a delicious selection of other baked goods including the best, fluffiest and flakiest croissant that you will ever find in all of Lisbon.

But if bean pastries aren’t your thing, Amorim has got you covered. Indulge in one of their omelette baguettes or chocolate croissants, paired with an espresso with milk foam and a glass of freshly squeezed juice while sitting outside on Rua dos Remedios for some decent people-watching in one of Lisbon’s most historic districts.
