Small, Cozy and Boozy. As Ernest would have liked it.

Hemingway’s Café Bar opened its doors in 2012 and has been attracting visitors from all parts of the world ever since.

Popular among the locals and tourists alike, expect to see people spilling into the street in the evenings, drinking and laughing until the wee hours of the morning. Known for their strong G&T’s, juicy burgers, generous beer pours and friendly service, the bar also specializes in mojitos and daiquiris – one of the author’s favourites.

Although Ernest never made his way to his namesake bar in Ericeira (his death in 1961 would have made it difficult), owner Joaquim Graça is sure that he would have fallen in love with the place.

We happen to agree.
